Vig (vigorish) / juice
Industry and product terms
Definition
The operator's built-in commission, baked into the price rather than charged separately. A standard −110 line on both sides means you risk $110 to win $100; the extra is the vig, and it is why a 50% win rate still loses money.

- Tennessee Sports Wagering Council glossary
Supports: Defines vigorish or juice as a fee collected on losing wagers and gives the $110-to-win-$100 example.
Remaining evidence gap: Calling vig a commission and saying it is always baked into the price rather than charged separately are broader than the regulator’s definition.
